Successful the 2022 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group in Washington DC have come to an end but the memories of some of the events that took place will indeed remain in our heart
Among such events, one that interests us most was how the people of Tigrayans stormed IMF and World Bank annual meeting in Washington DC with heavy protest, asking Authority to stop Funding Genocide. In their opening, they told IMF, World Banks, and every other Authority who cares to listen to them, to ignore all loan requests from the Ethiopia government
Most times the money given to them is channeled to founding war, killing and massacring innocent Tigrayans. so to them, IMF and World Bank should not grant them loans. Read the previous article here
Then you ask, is the world not supposed to be at peace, common this is 2022, with all the advances in technology trying to connect the world as one global village, why then are we still hearing the sounds of war, from Europe where Russia has invaded Ukraine, to how Ethiopia government are busy killing the innocent people of Tigray somewhere in Africa
It was sad listening to Tigrayans as there continued to protest echoing their voice, forcing their voice to be heard in the face of the oppressed Government laid by Abiy Ahmed, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia. Then it occurred to me how the war between the people of Biafra and the Nigeria government went about 60 years ago, it was somewhere in Southeastern Nigeria in west Africa
Where the people of Biafra have just broken away from the Nigeria government but for Nigeria government to invade them, killing and massacring millions of innocent women, children, young men, and aged
Sadly that was back in the 1960s, about 60+ years ago, and to date that region in western Africa is still crying for help as what led to the Biafra and Nigeria war 60+ years ago which is simple magnetization against the eastern part of Nigeria is yet to be addressed
The same marginalization has put the Tigray region unrest as the Ethiopia lead government continues to kill innocent women and children for the past 18 months. In what we refer to as the Tigray Genocide, It's sad watching all these happening in 21 century
As everybody wore a suit and ate good food at the 2022 IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Washington DC, In the Tigran region of Ethiopia tens to hundred of innocent people are being killed daily, while their officials are here requesting more loans and grants to use fund war and commit more genocide. The Tigran people were protesting outside with placards calling on Authorities such as IMF, World bank, etc never to listen and should not grant loans or grant to Ethiopian officials.
While almost all the international press are reporting and following the Russia-Ukraine war, most of them are paying zero interest on the Tigray war genocide. There are simply not paying attention, come to talk of reporting it, possibly because most of the people being killed are blacks, or because this is happening in a black man's country. So the fact they are protesting doesn't matter to them the international press
But watching them continue chanting, I would leave the glittering buildings located near the White House and go and talk with some of them, at one point. I was the only connection between them and the police as they shouted genocide, Tigray, no money to Ethiopia genocide, hashtag #TigrayGenocide.
Some people in the suit were annoyed that they were there, but I was perfectly fine with it and glad they were making their point, they are voicing out and possibly the world will hear them and the genocide war in Tigray will soon come to an end
Inside the building, I would often be the only one to ask about the devastating crisis in the Horn of African nations, why are other media, mostly the international media not report most of these happenings. The EU, the UN, and the United States not paying attention to the Tigray genocide at a time when we expected that one human race which is simply being humans should come first, first above tribalism color, language, religion, etc
There you have it, the real world with problems, wars, droughts, injustices, poverty and massacres, and the people inside trying to resolve them but not interacting with the real people. It was a telling contrast that made me sad
