Sadly As The Full Blown war between Russia and Ukraine enter day 5 after Russian troops invaded Ukraine, a painful happening in today's modern world that may lead to World War 3
The painful ongoing war just reminds me of how The Nigeria troop invaded the Biafra land in 1960 killing millions of innocent people in what I titled: The Biafra Nigeria Civil War
In 1960 after the Republic of Biafra a secessionist state in West Africa break away from Nigeria, the then Nigeria government led by General Yakubu Gowon declared a full-blown war against Biafra in today what we can refer to as southeastern Nigeria
Though the war was fought between the government of Nigeria and the Republic of Biafra after the Nigeria troop invaded the Biafra land (southeastern Nigeria) led by then, General Yakubu Gowon, while Biafra was led by LT Colonel Odumegwu Ojukwu
The Biafra Nigeria war began in 1967 and lasted until 1970, taken up about good 3 years of war, resulting in massive killings of innocent nationals, and distractions, the Biafra War remains a bloody conflict fought between Nigeria and the breakaway Republic of Biafra in history
The war was devastating for both sides, with an estimated 1 million killed and millions more displaced. The Biafran people suffered greatly during the war, facing starvation, hunger, and disease as a result of the Nigerian blockade
While the war was fought across southern Nigeria, In the end, however, Nigeria emerged victoriously, and the Republic of Biafra was dissolved forcing them to remain part of Nigeria
Though the Biafra Nigeria War was a civil war fought only in southeastern Nigeria from 1967 to 1970, when then the Nigeria Troops invaded southeastern Nigeria and staged a full-blown up war in the heart of eastern Nigeria, killing millions of people, displacing millions and trillion worth of properties that were lost across southeastern Nigeria
It was waged between the government of Nigeria and the Nigerian Peoples Republic, to stop the breakaway of the Southeastern part of Nigeria called Biafra state that sought to create an independent Biafran republic.
The war claimed the lives of more than 1 million people and displaced millions more. In 1970, the Nigerian government succeeded in recapturing the breakaway state, which was then reintegrated into Nigeria and remained part of Nigeria until the date. While the then Biafra Nigeria civil war has ended the agitation for Biafra state has not
The Biafra Agitation That Has Lasted For Decades
Biafra agitation, also known as the Biafran War, refers to the efforts made between 1967 and 1970 by the Republic of Biafra to secede from Nigeria. The war claimed the lives of more than 1 million people as early said and resulted in the displacement of millions more. The secession attempt was unsuccessful, and in 1970, Biafra was reintegrated into Nigeria.
The secession was in response to what the people of Biafra felt was discrimination and neglect by the federal government of Nigeria, the same issues as reported in the 1960s are still reported as the same reasons behind the consistent ongoing Biafra agitation
While the Nigerian Civil War, also known as the Biafran War, lasted for two and a half years
In a country in West Africa Nigeria, where the Igbo people of Nigeria have a long history of political and economic marginalization, one can still say that entire Nigeria is a shadow of its own with visible poor political leadership from the 1960s till the date year 2022
Nothing seems to have been changed, only put increased corruption among the elites, politicians, military and politically elected officials, Nothing across all Nigeria has changed as more Nigeria goes to bed daily with starvation and hunger
While today Biafran agitation is led by Nnamdi Kanu, a young, who has tapped into the frustrations of the Igbo people, the Yoruba Nation agitation is also led by Sunday Igboho as both parts of Nigeria continue to cry over marginalization from both the Federal government, tribalism, insecurity, ritual killings, kidnapping, Boko haram, and banditry and many more
Historically, one can say. The Biafra Nigeria civil war remains one civil war fought in Nigeria from 1967 to 1970, between the Nigeria lead government and Biafra who remain today part of Nigeria AND was fought between the government of Nigeria and the secessionist state of Biafra.

But then, the agitation has not ended, as Biafra agitation has been ongoing since 1967 when the Eastern region of Nigeria seceded from the rest of the country.
The secession was in response to what the people of Biafra felt was discrimination and neglect by the federal government of Nigeria, the same issues as reported in the 1960s are still reported as the same reasons behind the consistent ongoing Biafra agitation

The social, political, and economic marginalization across Nigeria has led to periodic outbreaks of violence, the latest of which is the agitation for Biafra and that of the Yoruba Nation
