The government of Brazil is currently in a legal and political standoff with Brazil's Supreme Court. The conflict began when Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered X to block certain accounts, citing the need to protect democracy from disinformation.

Musk publicly defied the court's order, calling it "unconstitutional" and demanding the resignation of Justice Moraes with immediate effect. In response to Musk's defiance, the Brazilian Supreme Court opened an inquiry into Musk for obstruction of justice in that part of the world.
