Here you will learn how to design, and develop any type of website, but first let's get started from scratch, by Learning some basic terminology related to Modern Web Development Technology. STARTING With "The Internet"

The Internet: This is the interconnection of two or more computer networks across the world. let's say for example
  • Computer network 1
  • Computer network 2
  • Computer network 3
  • Computer network 4 etc
How these computers are connected is what we mean by the internet.

NOTE: There are several examples of the internet. But the most popular is the World Wide Web (WWW).

The World Wide Web: (WWW) is often called the WEB, the question now is why it is called the "WEB"

There are computers located in different countries across the world, including the one I am using now and the device you are using in viewing this page are all examples of the web.

Here the Web helps computers to communicate with each other. Their interconnection is the reason it's called The Web. Because these computers are located all over the World Wide Web.

The Developer Of The World Wide Web (WWW): Tim Berner Lee is the Inventor Of The Web in the year 1994.

HTTP AND HTTPS: The web uses a communication protocol called Hypertext Transfer Protocol to communicate with each other

The Web Pages: The web contains a lot of information in documents called web pages and there are trillions of web pages currently on the internet

PLEASE NOTE: All web pages on the internet have a unique address, every web page is uniquely known as a "URL"

The URL: Stands for Uniform Resource Locator which is the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web and each URL directs the web server to a particular web page which are all unique web addresses.

The Structure Of The URL: When it comes to URL, the structure of the URL has three main components that comprises
  • 1: The Domain:The domain name on its own also has other parts. such as
    • a: HTTP/HTTPS (Protocol)
    • b: www (The Web)
    • c: nameofwebsite (Domain Name/Host)
    • d: .Com (Extensions TLD)
    • e: Subdomain
    • f: / (The Path) the path where the resource you are looking for across the web is located

  • 2: The Web Server: This is the second structure of the web, and is the location in which the web pages are installed in a giant computer and cloud computer called a Web server. You can also refer to it as the (Web Host Location).

  • 3: The Web Client: When you browse the internet the computer, mobile, or devices you use to browse is called the "Web Client" be it the computer or mobile phone you use to access the web. Are all referred to the web client?. This web client makes a request using HTTP/HTTPS to fetch information from the web and for this request to be possible. Web Browsers are required.

The Web Browser: A web browser is a software application that allows users to access and display information on the World Wide Web. It's the program that translates the code from web servers into the text, images, files documents we see on our screens. Common examples include
  • Google Chrome,
  • Mozilla Firefox,
  • Brave
  • Opera and
  • Safari. etc

The TLD Extensions: TLD stands for "Top-Level Domain" There are several forms of extensions and more are still coming out, but the most among them now is
  • .com
  • .org
  • .net
  • .ai
  • .io
  • .ca
  • .us
  • .co.uk
  • .info
  • .online
  • .name
  • .app
  • .ng and many more

The Home Page: This is the first page that you land on the website when you visit a website, also known as the landing page, index page, or front page. Web pages are linked to each other through links, internal links as well external link paths as hypertext.

The HTML:
Which stands for "Hypertext Markup Language" is a text-based approach to describing how content contained within an HTML file is structured. This markup tells a web browser how to display text, images, and other forms of multimedia on a webpage.

The PHP: Is another flavor of HTML, Which includes PHP, MySQL, XML, JavaScripts, VB Scripts, WML, ASP.NET, and a host of others that are all used to add interactive to websites.

The CSS: CSS stands for "Cascading Style Sheets" and is the language we use to style a Web page. ; CSS describes how HTML elements are to be displayed. The looks and feels of a website.
