Show Your marvelous loving-kindness, O You Who save by Your right hand those who trust and take refuge in You from those who rise up against them. Keep and guard me as the pupil of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings.

— Psalm 17:7-8 (AMPC)

David said, “Lord, I am like a broken vessel" (see Psalm 31:12). Brokenness seems bad, but through brokenness we rid ourselves of the outer shell, the fleshly parts of us, that need to be thrown off in order to bring forth the good things that are in us.

All of us need to be broken as David was; we need to be totally dependent on God to deliver us from evil. Pray today as David did: But I trusted in, relied on, and was confident in You, O Lord; I said, You are my God (Psalm 31:14 AMPC).

Prayer: Dear Lord, in my brokenness, make me wholly dependent on You. Rid me of the fleshly areas of myself that hinder my growth in You.
