How Facebook started 19 years ago, on this day 19 years after it's hard to imagine a world without Facebook and how large the company has grown​

For the past 19 years, Facebook has become an integral part of our lives, it has been used for, networking, hanging out, and more importantly for business

It has grown to the world's number one social medial platform, where people all over the world assemble, communicating with friends, family, and business partners, sharing photos and news, and even managing business pages, posting audio, files, video, going live as well as boosting ads

It has grown from strength to strength, but how did it all start?:​

The story of Facebook began in 2004 when Mark Zuckerberg, then a Harvard sophomore, developed a simple social network as a way to stay connected with his classmates. He called it TheFacebook. At first release, it looked like a traditional online directory, as you can see in the photo below

That was how Facebook started, yes from TheFacebook.com, to now Meta. The good news is that Facebook started unfounded and today has grown to what we all enjoyed

When the first version of Facebook was released, there was a twist AMONG Harvard students, first registration on Facebook was 100% free, just the way signing up on Facebook remains free to date

So when the twist happened: A user needed just an email address to sign up to TheFacebook. This meant the site would grow quickly, as all students at Harvard had an email account, not just an email account, 100% of these students had both an Edu email account, and commercial email addresses

Today Make's It 19th Years When Facebook Was Founded​

Facebook was founded on February 4, 2004, by Mark Zuckerberg, along with Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes. It has since grown into one of the largest social media platforms around the world. It remains the most used social media platform today in most continents, including here in African
