Obudu mountain resort formerly called the obudu cattle ranch, is a ranch located at the obudu plateau at the Northeastern part of Cross River State close to the Cameroon border. Obudu mountain restort, was developed by Mr M. McCaughley a Scot man who camped in the area in 1949 for a month before he returned two years later in 1951 with his friend Mr. Hugh Jones and together with Dr Crawfeild, Obudu mountain rresort at the oseghie ridge at the sankwala mountains was developed.
Obudu mountain resort at the altitude of 1576 metres metres above sea, is the highest peak in Cross River State, Nigeria. The resort is located in obudu town in Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State. From Calabar, the Cross River State capital, it is about 30 to 1 hour drive to Obudu mountain resort.
The resort is a very beautiful tourism destination as it has breathtaking sites and entertainment activities and it can be accessed by road or by the cable car. By road, it is about 25 minutes drive while by the cable car, it is about 6 minutes drive
The tourist attraction in the resort include the canopy walkway. The walkway is a 100m suspended swinging canopy walkway bridge above the forest.
The intestinal road view. This a zig zag road that brings visitors up the resort. It got it's name from the shape of the road which from arial view, have an intestine shape.
The resort is also home toThe Becheve Nature Reserve and it contains different species of plant and animals.
