The Management of UPTH (University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital) have debunk the News that over 17 Babies died in their facility, NOW saying ''NO BABY DIED''

Its was a shocking and treading news, day ago, when multiple reports and people have it that over 17 Babies died at UPTH incubator due to power outages, read the previous thread Here

NOTE: For those reading outside Africa, UPTH which stands for University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, is a Federal Government of Nigeria-founded hospital, established in April 1980, it is a major tertiary care teaching and research facility in the Southern part of Nigeria, located at the East-West Road in Port Harcourt, which people have reports that babies are dying at the facilities due to power failure and now the Hospital management is out, debunks the news as false, in Quote, The management of UPTH said no baby dead in their facility due to power outages

Management has denied the report that no over 17 babies died in the UPTH facility within a week or so due to a power outage in the hospital, calling it fake news. Earlier multiple sources have gone online to lament how poor the management of UPTH is and how babies are dying in the facility, some alleged that several babies died in the UPTH's incubators, and some said they're where ask to take the sick patient out of the hospital all because there was no electricity to run the medical equipment at that time

However, UPTH in a statement by its acting Public Relations Officer, Elabha Meni, denied the reports, noting that no baby died in the facility due to a power outage

A statement released to members of the press and the public noted that UPTH was known for its excellence and has maintained the standard, saying it was the best in medical practice within the region

He also said: “The University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital, is a known center for excellence, a citadel of training, research, and healthcare delivery, no baby dead at our facility

The University of Port-Harcourt Teaching Hospital is an institution, where the world’s best medical standards are practiced and maintained to date.”, which also has helped make the institution one of the best medical centers in the South-south and Nigeria at large.

However, it is quite saddening that certain persons or media are trying to tarnish the image of the hospital by spreading false messages and information that are inaccurate. See the previous report here, stating that Over 17 Babies Die At UPTH Incubator Due To Power Outage, which has not been debunked by the hospital management in Port Harcourt Nigeria
