Natural Resources, My Science Presentation
Dear friend, its important that you know this, natural resources are important to our day to day life, to our economy and way of life. They are essential for producing food, energy, and other goods and services.
Natural resources can come from the earth, air, water, or space. Some natural resources are easy to find and extract while others are more difficult to get.
We use natural resources to make products that we use in our everyday lives, so in these thread, I'm going to discuss deep about the topic "Natural Resources " with graphic illustration, so pay attention
What are Natural Resources?
Natural resources are resources that exist without any actions of humankind. Thus water, air, soil, minerals, coal, forests, crops, and wildlife are all examples of natural resources.
Classifications Of Natural Resources
Two classifications only, being Renewable Resources & Non-Renewable Resources
Renewable Resources
- Can be used repeatedly and does not run out because it is naturally replaced.
- Ex. solar energy, wind, falling water
Solar Energy
Since the earth formed, the sun has produced energy in the form of heat and light. It is considered unlimited
Wind Power
The wind is moving air created as the sun heats the earth’s surface. As long as the sun is shining, the wind remains an infinite, renewable resource.
Flowing Water
Creates energy that can be captured and turned into electricity which is called Hydroelectric power. Water is constantly renewed by the water cycle
Geothermal Energy
The earth is constantly being warmed up by its core so when we use geothermal energy, we don’t use up resources like we do when we burn gas.
Non-Renewable Resources
- A natural substance that is not replenished with the speed at which it is consumed.
- Ex. oil, natural gas, coal, and nuclear energy
Oil: Oil is a liquid fossil fuel. Most of the world's oil is still deep under the ground.
Coal: Coal is a black or brownish rock. We burn coal to create energy
Resources Available to Us
Land Resources, which is 10%
Natural Gas, which is 15%
Animal Resources, which is 25%
Forest Resources, which is 30% and the highest among them
Wind Energy, which is 15%
Solar Energy, which is 5%
Why are Natural Resources Important?
Without natural resources, humans would not survive. People use natural resources every day directly or indirectly.
