The feature, called two-factor authentication, is designed to make it more difficult for hackers, account hijackers to gain access to users' accounts. Facebook has long offered two-factor authentication, but it was an optional feature that not many users opted for, but now it seems Facebook's latest update is now forcing users to use Facebook two-factor authentication in adding more security to their account, which to us 'World Forum Live' is a welcome development

In light of the number of high-profile cyberattacks in recent months, so will understand if Facebook chooses to enforce two-factor authentication to its users as an updated security measure introduced to keep its users' accounts more secure

Apart from Facebook, Google and other tech industries are using two factor authentication, so the technology is already used by many banks and other online entities, which requires an additional verification code, usually sent as a text message, to log in to a user account.

Though the Facebook two factor authentication was first announced In February of 2014, that it would be adding two-factor authentication to its service. That provides an extra layer of security for all users, requiring them to input a one-time code in addition to their username and password to log in and keep their account safe

The feature was initially available only to users who had set up their account to use the Login Approvals feature, but it has since been made available to all users and now Facebook is enforcing it to all users
