Angola overtook Nigeria as the number one oil-producing country in Africa

Angola has overtaken Nigeria as the number one oil-producing country in Africa, according to the International Energy Agency, there has been an increase in production due to discoveries and increased production from existing fields.

Angola has been able to increase its output despite a decline in demand from Europe. The country is also expected to benefit from growth in China and other Asian countries. while America is now investing heavily in Angola, what then is Angola got right that Nigeria is busy failing

As multiple reports now have that Angola has now overtaken Nigeria as the number one oil-producing country in Africa in the last few years and keeps waxing stronger lately

The new face of Angola's development is waxing, the country seems to be headed in the right direction right now. By fighting corruption, improving human development, allowing freedom of speech, practicing true democracy, and improving transparency and accountability

The country in the Southern part of Africa with just 32.87 million population has been in the news for all good headlines and is being rated as one of today's fast-growing countries across Africa. The Angolan economy is attracting many investors, including many from the United States as announced by President Joseph R. Biden Jr. last week June 2022 when he referenced a $2 billion U.S. investment in the solar sector.

Angola’s oil company, Sonangol, is bringing great transformation with efficiency, transparency, and accountability in Angola. Also the U.S. company VFuels is even building a big refinery in Cabinda while Angola has now joined the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), the global standard for the good governance of oil, gas, and mineral resources.

These are all good steps that President João Lourenço has initiated since he took office as President of Angola in 2017. However, will this last? Will he continue in this direction if given a second Mandate of five years next month? Will he change? Only time will tell, while is our prayer that Angola should continue in these directions, when compared to their other Africa Nation called Nigeria, where corruption is fast eating the one a great nation, a destination for Africans, but lost its glory due to corruption and bad leadership
